Live SADI-S Surgeries & - Expert Panel Discussion
It was an honor to be part of the Landmark Bariatric Workshop – Beyond the First Cut, held at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun in Malaysia on April 17–18, 2025.
As part of this prestigious workshop, I had the unique opportunity to perform live SADI-S (Single-Anastomosis Duodenal-ileal Bypass with Sleeve Gastrectomy) surgeries, which are believed to be among the first ever performed in Malaysia. These procedures were broadcast live to an audience of around 40 bariatric and upper GI surgeons from Malaysia and Thailand, fostering a dynamic learning and sharing environment.
The event also included in-depth discussions on revisional surgery techniques and the latest advances in SADI-S procedures, allowing for the exchange of surgical insights and best practices across borders. It was a privilege to contribute to these conversations, collaborate with regional experts, and work together toward advancing the future of bariatric surgery.
